Cardio doctor seems to like what she sees, haven't seen the medical doctor yet today.  We are very positive and not only are we on the road to recovery...... we are on the road out of here(hopefully soon)!  

We have introduced some new meds (heart and antibiotics) and discontinued others, Mom's body just needs to adjust (so i guess one more day in here). Mom is over being in the hosptial and wants to go home, we will have clear skies as we exit CMC. 

Labor Day

Mom had a very busy and tiring weekend!  Kerstin came in town, she and Mom went shopping.  I heard Christopher tried to take Mom to the food store, but she was worn out from her prior shopping and was unable to buy more!

Family is a fantastic thing!

Hospital visit Fall 2012

Well we are trying our best to stay out of the hosptal....we had been doing good for quite awhile. This Saturday (October 2012) Mom's heart rate was pretty high and she came on in to the hospital. We have agreed this is going to be a short visit and she will be back home very soon.

5K Pajama Run

What a great time and a great cause! This picture was from last year...so glad Mom is feeling up to it and will join the festivities this year! 

Just think she was released from the hospital the evening of the race November 5th 2011 (last year ...one of the few release dates of that year). 

Crisp it's what's for lunch

Today Mom, Christopher and I met for lunch we went to Crisp.  Mom could live on veggies and fish if she had to.  What did we all order? You guessed it-salad-.  Mom and I even had leftovers. Thanks Christopher for treating us to lunch!

Paracentesis only 2 liters

Mom went for her usual paracentesis Thursday and they only removed 2 liters from her stomach.  They gave her albumin and she's back to her old self again.

4th of July

Mom spent time with Christopher on Wednesday and really enjoyed herself.  He took her out to lunch boy she had her heart set on a hotdog, but had to settle for pizza.

She took a couple naps to prepare herself for the evening's events. 

Come evening she visited one of her dear friends Jo Ann and Tommy Townsend- and brought the 4th of July in with a bang with pretty fireworks and great camaraderie. Not to mention walking up and down steps on four different occasions.

Home sweet Home Sunday evening

After a full day of eating, shopping, and site seeing we headed home.  On our drive we hit some bad rain, luckily it only last a bit and we arrive in Charlotte Sunday evening.  Charlotte got rain shortly after we arrived it was a good thing because Mom’s plants needed it!

This is just one of the spectacular houses Charleston has to offer for the gardener and architecturer’s delight. So much effort went into all visible parts to this house.

Shopping who does it better?

Mom and Kerstin are at it again…luckily they were just window shopping today!

Poogan's Porch

Brunch Sunday morning, our hotel is right behind us in this picture.  Poogan’s Porch doesn’t take reservations for brunch so you should have seen the people coming from all over when 9 am came. Crazy… I guess they thought Giada De Laurentiis was in the house!?

Three happy ladies after dinner.....

 We had some of the most wonderful seafood while dining at Blossom this evening.  We didn’t have a way to keep the food/leftovers cold overnight so we split two main courses and two desserts. Let’s just say fantastic! Three very happy ladies returned to the room for some relaxation!

Boone Hall Farmer's Market

After all the fun that was had on the Boone Hall Plantation we headed to their farmer’s market for a quick snack before dinner tonight. The farmer’s market contains fresh produce and other products produced on the plantation!

1,000 years old and still kickin' !

It was such a scorcher of a day…mom was pooped and stayed in the car for this photo opt.  This tree posted is over 1,000 years old! I hope I look that good when I’m that old.

We participated in a plantation coach tour and visited the butterfly pavilion.  If you know Mom you will know which one she liked the best! It was very pretty, interesting, and educational. The top picture is the cotton mill which has now been condemned, I wish we could have gone in there before it became condemned.

Saturday's adventure begins.....

Saturday in Charleston here we come, after a good nights sleep we are ready to get the weekend started. Look at the scenery!  A close up of the Cooper River Bridge- the 3 of us have to start training to run the Cooper River Bridge Race.

Let the adventure begin....

It's Friday June 29th and Mom and I are en route, we plan to enjoy a fun filled weekend of adventure and relaxation. We are headed to Charleston SC for the weekend! In a couple hours we will meet up with Kerstin then the real adventures will begin!

March 20th

I hear it was a pretty good day overall, a couple rough spots here and there. Christopher came to the rescue..thanks man! I got a good bit of school work done because of him. On tap for tomorrow, our weekly paracentesis. I'm sure it will be a successful draining of a large volume of fluid.

Stiletto Sprint 2012
